Blair Castle

It was unfortunately a gloomy day on my trip to Blair castle, so converted to black & white. Would have much preferred a blue sky, to compliment the white castle and yellow daffodils. Nevermind.Built in 1269 by John I Comyn, Lord of Badenoch. In 1844 Queen Victoria and her consort, Prince Albert visited and stayed at Blair Castle. It was after this she gave permission to establish the Atholl Highlanders
The castle has been open to the public since 1936. Its many rooms feature important collections of weapons, hunting trophies, souvenirs of the Murray clan, ethnographica, paintings, furniture, and needlework collected by the Murray family over many generations.
